What is The Tribulation?

It is period of time, predetermined in Yahweh’s (God’s) eternal time calendar… which He will use to bring the “days of man,” to a close on planet earth. This troublesome and evil time, of course, is the “last days” of the Anti-Christ, that faithful Bible believers understand to be the precursor events that herald the coming of King Yeshua (Jesus). The Tribulation period is a seven year series of ever increasing chaotic events… a time of the final struggle between good and evil, with the rise of the “beast system,” and the time of the false prophet and the “man of sin,” who will become possessed and driven by the demonic spirit of Satan… and in the final days of his reign of terror, will be Satan manifested in the earth. There will be troubled times of considerable suffering leading up to the last seven years of the Tribulation, but the seven year Tribulation period is a specific time with a beginning and and end.

The Bible, in the Books of Daniel and Revelation especially, tells of things to come. The word “tribulation,” in the Biblical sense, is a time of great suffering and persecution of those who follow the God of the Bible (Yahweh), namely, Christians and Jews… the two main people groups the Devil is determined to destroy. Both Daniel and Revelation tells us the Devil, “went to make war with the saints.”

Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

It is very important to understand, that the very center focus and emphasis of the time of the Tribulation, is ALL about the Nation of Israel, Biblical Israel indeed. While other nations throughout the world will be experiencing hardships and horrific human sufferings, it is especially important that we do not confuse these chaotic events (outside Israel) as being Tribulation “markers” or “time stamps” with which we can measure timelines or dates as pertaining to the starting or ending of Biblical Tribulation. In fact, throughout history, there have been many times and events that many have tried to equate to the Tribulation in some way or another. There have been worldwide calamities, like WWI and WWII, that have included nations and their people and caused them to think how could any Tribulation be any worse… but, in the end, these events are not the Biblical Tribulation.

When is the Tribulation to happen?

This, as I will present it, will be what I think to be the Biblical time frame as defined by the Prophet Daniel… (Dan 9:24-27), namely, verse 27 seems to be the time of beginning the first of seven years of the Biblical Tribulation period. This group of Scripture verses are often referred to as, “The Revelation of the Seventy Weeks.” Remember, we are talking about prophetic events IN the Nation of Israel. Also, we must consider that the Bible seems to mark the beginning of the Tribulation period within a very turbulent and chaotic time in human history. Some (and myself also) believe the world governments have become mostly unified in what some call the “One World Order.” And, there is likely some disturbing and oppressive government persecution and widespread civil upheaval. This is probably the circumstances that Yeshua (Jesus) spoke of in Mat 24:3-31. Much more is written on this in Mark 13, and Luke 21.

As a backdrop for "the Great Tribulation" [last three and one-half years] event to be in affect, at least as the Bible describes the tyrannical fury that the “beast system” imposes upon Christians and Jews (the two people groups the devil is out to destroy; Rev 12:17), there has to be a worldwide surveillance and control system to monitor people, manage their movement (activity), and their buying and selling, etc. For the most part, the Chinese government has made considerable progress in their major cities to accomplish this very thing. In most modern Western nations, including Israel, the implementation of such a system is lacking only a digital currency and a fully integrated and connected communication and surveillance system with individual identification numbers specific to each citizen. It is my opinion that this is no more than two to three years into the future (this writing being Nov 2020).

Update for the preceding paragraph: as of December 2024, I want to focus on the last three and one-half years (normally called the “Great Tribulation”). The full seven years “tribulation” period, and when it will start is more difficult to determine, yet its season, or time frame, can be somewhat estimated by the human events that mimic the descriptive Biblical “end of days,” language from Daniel, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Thessalonians, Revelations, etc. Again, I want to emphasis that our focus for these “events” are with regard to what is happening in [and to] Israel. I my opinion, a more accurate and definitive time stamp for the near beginning of the last three and one-half years is more likely to be noticed by considering the language in Daniel, of ending the daily sacrifice [dan 11 & 12], and the control of buying and selling by the global anti-Christ system [rev 13:16-17]. Another point of interest, at least to me, is that the world is sitting on a short fuse to disastrous wars and political conflicts all around the globe. The Middle East has Iran and Turkey as the strong men of the territory and they work daily to undermine Israel’s right to exist. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has made it very clear that he intends to rebuild the Islamic Caliph (Islamic State), i.e. the resurrection of the Ottoman Empire. The political and territorial conflicts associated with this plan are many and very dangerous. Iran’s complicit agreements and resource exchanges with China are very troublesome and will not turn out well. China is also involved in building military bases in Africa to protect their interest with corrupt governments there as well. China also has Taiwan in their sights and it will likely result in a full scale assault to reclaim the offshore island for national China’s interest.

The Islamic influx of Muslim “culture enrichers,” have nearly brought England, Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Greece and Sweden to the point of no return to their once domestic and sovereign state of civilized society… continual Jihad and disruption of normal people’s lives is very problematic and not reported in the main-stream news for the religious ideological warfare that Islamist are actually waging against these host countries. All of this is no accident, as Bat Ye’or in her book Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis, documents so well. This is globally connected to the conflict over the US/Mexican border infiltration by alien persons whom the globalist fund and transport to our country by the tens of thousands yearly. Not to mention the billion dollars drug cartel’s assault on our nation and millions of our people, especially the youth and less fortunate who use this dark pathway to profitable and violent lifestyles. All of this is, in my opinion, unfix-able with our present system of divided political and financial interest.

The One World Order (globalists) are worldwide people and political groups who are well funded, highly organized, united in cause and purpose, and soundly entrenched in their safe havens and use their surrogate army of malcontents and Marxists to undermine and destabilize societies and government bodies around the world. They intend to use any means possible to achieve their goal of “Master” of the people. The undesirables will simply be eliminated… they are worse and more ruthless than the monster’s of the Communist and Nazi regimes of the 20th Century.

There are many other rogue nations, to name a few, Russia, Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, Pakistan, and dozens of guerrilla gangs and crime cartels who could easily upset regional and national peace on any given day. And to add to this, the globalists have profound plans to destabilize and terrorize the world population by any means possible (for example the recent Covid Pandemic attack on a global basis)… with more of such horrors likely to come, that is, if you believe their warnings. The forcing of a vaccination plan is only the tip of the iceberg… I recently reported, in my “Current Events” updates, that the world is a dangerous place. Considering the forgoing concerns for chaos in the making, there is ample reason to think we are in the time that Yeshua spoke of in the Biblical accounts recorded as mentioned above. He spoke of a time when men’s hearts would fail them for fear of things to come, the seas roaring, meaning masses of people everywhere, being perplexed and having no place to turn… chaos, fear, doubt, uncertainty. Times when men seem not to be able to fix the problems facing us… this sounds like the time the stage is being set for a brilliant world leader to arrive upon the scene and bring a solution to the panic stricken people… this would likely be the introduction of the Anti-Christ, who comes in to save us from ourselves, yet he is positioning himself to take over at the “right time.” Now for what it is worth (for believers anyway), Yahweh (God) is not fooled, in fact, Yahweh has planned this very moment.

There is one more detail I should mention, that must exist just prior to the Tribulation time, and that is the apostate state of the “church” of that time. The falling away, as the Bible calls it (2 Thes 2:1-12), sets the stage for the great deception that will precede the arrival of the man of sin (Anti-Christ, who’s number of a man is 666). This, as Yeshua told us, would be as it was as in the Days of Noah… at that time the world was overrun with sin and violence. The love of many would grow cold. I think these were once believers who have fallen away because of the absence of faithful preaching and teaching challenging people to live Biblical lifestyles and to obey and fear the LORD GOD Yahweh. Paul the Apostle tells us in the 2 Thes verses above that the underlying problem was the working of the mystery of iniquity (mystery of lawlessness). I think this is akin to the Scripture where Yahweh said, “my people perish because of the lack of knowledge.” When a society is void of Biblical instruction and people’s love for the truth, the wicked one undermines their thinking and they become dull in their senses of right and wrong and they are deceived as the Scriptures tell us… because they did not have a love for the truth (God’s truth).

So, when does the Tribulation time come? I think when the blending of the above events and acts of the people come to self-delusion and disrespect towards Yahweh and His expectations of them… the time is soon to come. Where are we today, and how long do we have until the “appointed time” of Yahweh is upon us? Are you saved, do you know Yeshua (Jesus) as your eternal Lord and Savior? Do you have a close personal, daily, fellowship with the God of Israel. Do you love Israel and pray for the peace of Jerusalem as the Bible teaches us. Do you love your neighbor and live your life with thankfulness and appreciation for each day you are given life from our Creator? Or are you entangled in the confusion of this decaying world that is falling away from their only hope?

There is a special page in this Tribulation series that includes three charts, and at the bottom of the page, a link to a comprehensive teaching by Dr. Gavin Finley, that is very interesting on the approach to understanding the probable timeline that the writer (Dr. Gavin Finley, of “The Endtime Pilgrim” website) suggest that the Biblical Feast that Yahweh commanded in His Torah, (Lev 23), as given to the children of Israel in the Exodus from Egypt, at Mt. Sinai, may reveal the plan that Yahweh set in fixed, predetermined time, for the “days of man.” I included it because I think it reveals a lot of useful information that causes us to consider the late hour in which we live.

There is also a page that lists a number of Bible Verses that relate to the Tribulation time… you would be wise to become familiar with them… because there is much confusion about a pre-Tribulation rapture, and even a mid-Tribulation rapture… you really should try to study this issue out, as I think many people may lose their hope and faith if they don’t experience these two false teaching events. The rapture and the resurrection of the dead are going to take place at the same time… Hopefully, these scriptures will strengthen your faith and protect you from confusion.
