The Ministry of the Holy Spirit

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) is the manifestation of God's (Yahweh's) Spirit in the affairs of men on earth. The “Ruach” of Yahweh has always been involved in the affairs of men… from the beginning… as we read in the beginning of the Torah text.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit [Strongs_H7307] of God moved upon the face of the waters. [Gen 1:2 KJV]

The Greek word, in New Testament text, with same meaning for Spirit is: “pneuma” [Strongs_G4151]

The “Spirit” of Yahweh is part of the Tetragrammaton… The Divine expressed name of God/Yahweh:

“YHWH” (God-Elohim most high) Strongs H3068; Typically translated a “LORD” in KJV bibles… KJV Translation count “6519x”

The KJV translates Strongs H3068 in the following manner: LORD (6,510x),GOD (4x), JEHOVAH (4x), variant (1x).

The Tetragrammaton is the ancient Israelitish name for God. According to actual count, it occurs 5,410 times in the Bible, according to the Jewish Encyclopedia

Jewish and Christian belief is that YHWH is “one” God (monotheistic), as opposed to a plethora of “gods,” (polytheistic) as in pagan religions.

The Scriptures declare that Yeshua (Jesus), is the “Word of God” that became flesh (incarnate),

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. [Jhn 1:14 NKJV]

Thirteen verses earlier, in Jhn 1:1, we read:

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [Jhn 1:1 NKJV]

When this was written, there was NO New Testament… The Torah, was the “Word” of God, Given at Mt. Sinai… as the “eternal and forever settled Word.” [Ps 119:89 KJV]

Therefore, it was the “Torah” that became flesh (Christ incarnate) was, and is the living Word (Torah) of Elohim… YHWH. Yeshua, said He was the Bread that came down from Heaven… and that He was the “living water,” of which when one “drinks” he will never thirst again. Of course, He was saying that if one ingests the “Word” or Torah, he will be partaking of the “bread of heaven.”

This is the same “Word from Heaven,” that Isaiah speaks of in Isa 55:6-11 KJV… and that same Word is what the “sower” of the “good seed” was planting in Yeshua's teaching in Mark 4:2-20 KJV, where He taught that the “sower” was sowing the “Word of God.” This is the same “good seed” (incorruptible seed) by which believers are “born again” from…

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. [1Pe 1:23 KJV] this “incorruptible” seed (Word) is the Torah… the eternal truth that YHWH has given us (believers) at Mt. Sinai, and sent His “only begotten Son,” Yeshua… who promised that His “Holy Spirit” would soon follow Him… which did come at Pentecost, 40 days later.

So, with all this being said… with YHWH, the Word from the Beginning, manifesting Himself as the incarnate Yeshua… who declared that He would send the “Comforter” when He was gone (following His death and resurrection… and ascension):

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. ... 26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. [Jhn 14:15-18, 26 KJV]

The Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) (Paraclete, or Comforter)… is the manifest Spirit of YHWH… given to all believers to empower them to live faithful and obedient lives as they learn the Torah and real nature and life-style of the Biblical Yeshua (Jesus)… not “another Jesus” that the Apostle Paul clearly warns us about:

4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or [if] ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with [him]. [2Co 11:4 KJV]

The Bible tells us that “greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.” This is one of the Ministries of the Holy Spirit… to lead us into all Truth:

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. [1Jo 4:1-6 KJV]

Yeshua prayed to the Father that YHWH would “sanctify” believers:

17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. [Jhn 17:17 KJV]

Our love for the “truth” and our faith in the “Word” will sanctify us and keep us through all our life's challenges and will hold us steadfast in our ways… Our love for the Word (Torah- Yeshua in the Flesh) and the empowering of the Holy Spirit is what our most important Christian “believer's” mission is all about… it is the one and only thing that we must embrace and never let go of… it is a choice. And, the Torah written Word, and the real Yeshua and His life-style, and the inspirational leading of the Holy Spirit will NEVER disagree... remember, they are "One."

This is not a new thing… ever since YHWH delivered Israel (the Hebrews) from Egypt (the Exodus), and brought them to the “mountain” (gave them the Torah at Mt Sinai)… the same message has been taught to us (as it was unto them):

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: [Deu 30:19 KJV]

Tragically, the Children of Israel were not to take YHWH seriously: all the Exodus generation above 20 years of age perished in the wilderness because of their unbelief… only Joshua and Caleb lived to enter the Promised Land (Canaan land, Israel)… here is what the Writer of Hebrews (NT) says:

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? [was it] not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. [Heb 3:17-19 KJV]

1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left [us] of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it]. [Heb 4:1-2 KJV]

It is clear that the “same gospel” was preached to the Exodus generation… it never changes;

8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. [Heb 13:8 KJV]

To conclude our “Ministry of the Holy Spirit” comments, let us understand that the “one God-Elohim” of Israel (YHWH-Yahweh, the Creator of the Heaven, Earth and all that is within them) is what the Hebrew Commentary defines as “One God.” The Hebrew term “echad,” is a compound unity. It is how we understand YHWH as being the Tetragrammaton… inclusive as God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit… not to be confused with a Roman Church Trinity… YHWH is ONE.

In the unfathomable wisdom of YHWH, He provided us a solid (and unmovable) foundation; that forms our “three-legged stool” of faith: He gave us his Torah Word at Mt Sinai, the one and only truth to sanctify us; He gave us His only Begotten Son- Yeshua, to redeem us, Yeshua is our only Salvation; and He gave us His Ruach (Holy Spirit) to Comfort us and lead us into all truth (there is only ONE truth… His Torah Word).

Now what does YHWH think about the way we deal with truth, His truth and our “love for it.”

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. [2Th 2:3-12 KJV]

As a final admonition: YHWH gets to make the rules, we only get to make the choices…

As noted in Deut 30:19 above, YHWH would that you would choose life… it is your move.
