This May 2017 “current events” update, is coming out just as we “count the omer,” which is the time frame of Seven Sabbaths (weeks) that pass between Passover and Pentecost (Shavuot); which is also called Feast of Firstfruits. It is the offering of “first fruit” of the wheat harvest (the barley harvest was at the time of the Passover in the spring). This 49 days has great significance to both Jewish traditionalists (Jewish Rabbinical views) and “New Testament” Christians. Now in the time in which we live, there is much to consider (and learn from both groups). I have included an excellent reference from “heberew4christians” website… If you have never considered this subject's relevance to your faith in God's work in your behalf… please give this excellent writeup a look and think of the implications that it reveals that affect your life as a believer. I have not presented this article link as a “theological doctrine” of cannon… even if you (or I) don't agree with all the concepts presented, we should consider the work as a whole a worthwhile source of Biblical information… tragically, too many people (and I am referring to most church brethren) have no clue to the importance of this subject.

The Jewish tradition teaches that Shavuot is the 50th day that the Exodus Hebrews experienced following their Egyptian bondage, (50 days following Passover), where YHWH brought the Hebrews (and their “mixed multitude” companions) to Mt. Sinai, to receive the “Ten Words” (the Torah)… and where they were “married” (brought into covenant) to/with YHWH when they said “we will obey.” We could speak much more on that subject, but time and space does not allow.

The Christians, somehow evolved to claim the event (Pentecost/Greek), meaning 50, is where the Church began its voyage into time… that of course is not the case… but we will continue to love and patiently accept that view for sake of unity until their Biblical learning gets better calibrated… but for those who really understand the more correct meaning of the “church” and its meaning and eternal purpose, this “Pentecost” event continually blesses us each season… where a more fully appreciated meaning is that this is the event Yeshua spoke of, when on the 40th day following His resurrection, just as His ascension was imminent, He admonished the believers to “tarry” in Jerusalem for the promise of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:1-9; 2:1-47)

So, this glorious triad… (#1) the Torah given at Mt. Sinai, the WORD of YHWH, spoken from the mouth of YHWH to Moses, from the mountain within the cloud… written on stone tablets with God's own finger, on Shavuot, 50 days after Passover… and, (#2) The lamb of GOD, Yeshua (the Torah Word that became flesh; John 1:1-14), who was sacrificed for us on a later Passover (50 days prior to Shavuot); raised from the dead/grave 3 days later (becoming the “first fruit” of God's own work for the redeemed; 1 Corinthians 15:20)… and, (#3) The outpouring of the Holy Spirit 50 days after Yeshua's crucifixion (our believers deliverance from “Egypt” the house of worldly sin). This is nothing less than YHWH reaching out to His people (believers- Israel) as The WORD of GOD, GOD in the Person of Yeshua/flesh, GOD the Holy Spirit.

This Biblical narrative is choreographed in full by YHWH to be an eternal witness (and experienced annually) by YHWH'S Spring and Fall Festivals of Leviticus 23:1-44. There are Seven Annual Festivals of YHWH, with 4 in the Spring and 3 in the Fall… the Spring Festivals represent Yeshua's first coming, and the three Fall Festivals are to teach us of His Second Coming.
