“That they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.” ez 11:20 nkjv |
May 5, 2026 Who are the “people of God?” The real people of God have a heritage; they have a divine and authentic identity; they are set apart and are a special people… You may say, “well, that’s a selfish opinion,” because God loves everyone. You'd have the second part right… yet to be “God’s special people,” you qualify only through Yeshua [Jesus]. God is not a respecter of persons: “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.” acts 10:34-35 kjv The NKJV, in place of “respecter of persons,” says, “shows no partiality.” In other words, God sees a person’s citizenship in the “Kingdom of God,” through the blood of Christ. Our citizenship in the “my people” group is what this life is all about… do you believe that? Compare the OT “walk in My statutes and keep My judgments,” to NT “he that feareth him and worketh righteousness.” Essentially one and the same. How does this compare with modern day society’s opinion of themselves and their lifestyles? Who’s opinion is most important, men's cultural view or Yahweh’s view? When we look into the mirror of Biblical truth, how do we see ourselves? What defines our thinking on this matter? It really matters and if we are carelessly comfortable with our own opinions, we are sliding down the slope to destruction… freestyle. Paul told Timothy, “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 tim 2:19 nkjv Iniquity, of course, is certain to disqualify one from being counted among those called “my people.” Iniquity in the meaning here is the equivalent of “lawlessness,” or disobedience and disdain to the statutes and judgments of God… a matter that one cannot leave hanging on in one’s lifestyle. God is always faithful, patient, longsuffering, gracious, and merciful… don’t you think that’s a really good thing? Can you think of anything that you need to clean up in your thinking and lifestyle that needs attention… Especially if you have not yet made Yeshua [Jesus] Lord of your life. I’m working on my own issues, we all need to do some soul searching and tune up our opinion of ourselves… you think? This chance is only available while we yet walk among the living. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Shalom, John |
