“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;”  deut 30:19 nkjv  [Moses final warnings to the Children of Israel included this verse]

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” josh 24:15 nkjv;   -- [This verse is among Joshua’s final admonitions to the Children of Israel just before he died, concluding his leadership of them for the conquest of Canaan land]  What do these commands from Moses and Joshua mean? Could they apply to anyone claiming to be a “believer” in Yeshua/Jesus in our times? If so, what are the implications and consequences?

First, let me say that the Children of Israel did not heed the wisdom of Moses and Joshua’s words above… they soon followed after their own hearts and selfish interest… sounds familiar in our times, does it not? The late Derek Prince said something we need to consider…

Concerning a believer’s “calling, he said:”

“I have done extensive biblical study concerning the requirements for fulfilling our calling in Christ, and I contend that they may be summed up in a single word: single-mindedness. If you become double-minded and allow your thinking to be diverted, you will not fulfill your calling.”

Derek also said, “Opposition will increase, but those who endure to the end will be saved. God will use the Antichrist’s evil activities to refine the true church and bring forth a pure bride for the Lord Jesus Christ. We must resist the devil, repent of our sins, and submit to God, thereby thwarting Satan’s dominion. If we love the truth, God will protect us from delusion.”

Let me remind us of Yahweh’s provision for humanity through [and in] Yeshua/Jesus:

“Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” isa 53:4-6 nkjv

Considering Yahweh’s provision for us and Derek’s comments… it seems to me the issue is understanding and maintaining our “perspective.” Do we perceive a concept of Biblical reality and recognize there is a subversive element trying to undermine Yahweh’s truth and foster delusion in our “perspective.” This is why Derek says “single-mindedness” is so important. On our own, we will falter and loose our God intended perspective… by choice; yet it is the Holy Spirit that is capable of keeping us on the right path… again, if we “choose” to heed God’s Spirit…

I think “reality” has different meaning to different people; people without the born-again Spirit in them, follow Satan’s illusions [while they are real time issues], the illusion is believing the lie… just as Eve was “unfocused” by Satan’s proposition, although an illusion in eternal perspective, it seemed to her a very real profitable pursuit here and now… thus the double-mindedness trap. What happened to her? Adam too failed to address the danger. Where is the enemy of our soul lurking and waiting for our lapse of consequence regarding Deut 30:19 above?

There is a tragic component to self-centered pursuit of illusional preferences… the more one follows the illusion, the harder it is to awaken to the “reality” they inhabit [by delusion], which is NOT Yahweh’s prescribed reality… in fact, now we come to the issue: What is the source of your reality? Who [or what] controls your thinking and subsequent choices? Do you believe there is only one intended reality for mankind? I do, but unbelievers and typical persons have not a clue. Unless the Word of God and the Holy Spirit permeates the illusional shell of a person’s delusional stupor, then they are the enemy of the Cross. Their hatred for Israel and Yahweh is proof enough, in an advanced delusional condition.

Cultural habits, religious influence, social environment, education, and many other life experiences influence, and can even dominate one’s perspective… Unless you know your Biblical truth, Satan will work in all theses venues against Yahweh’s plan for you, because he has corrupted all these for his use. And perhaps the most illusional trap used by the devil, in my opinion, is corrupted religious dogma, and careless emotional indulgence of modern feel good Christianity.

Carnal minded people following “relativism” are hedonistic in their nature, but because of the darkness of the illusion they inhabit, they hate the Biblical mandate to self-examine themselves in the mirror of Yahweh’s Word… thus they also hate Israel and Yahweh’s love for His people [all genuine followers of Yeshua included]. This did not originate in recent times… It originated in the post-flood re-population of the world… at that time all men spoke the same language, and those in the land of Shinar, with Nimrod as their leader, had a united purpose [a hive mind if you will]. Nimrod was off to build his personal kingdom in opposition to Yahweh [another devil inspired illusion], read Gen chapter 10-11 to get the context.

Following Yahweh’s scattering of the Nimrod “conspiracy,” Yahweh brought forth “His” family using Abraham… and the foundation of Biblical reality [Truth] began with Yahweh’s model known as Israel… who would be a “faith” minded people, who Yahweh would give an unchanging “single-minded” plan [Torah] to be His witness to mankind, for their salvation, and a special and separate identity of people to do His bidding in the earth. Now you can see Satan did not find this to his benefit… and went to work to destroy these people and their purpose… and their source, truth.

Abraham’s faith separated him from his family and pagan practices. The “new” single-minded perspective Yahweh designed was now in place… You know the rest if you have read the book. One of the things it says is:

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” prov 9:10 nkjv;  it also says: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” prov 1:7 nkjv…  Thus the distinction between truth and foolishness determines one’s “reality.” Where are you in this? Will you purpose to follow real truth or the illusion of Nimrod’s Antichrist spirit that prevails in the earth yet today? There are only two “spirits” to receive instruction from… remember Detu 30:19…  it is a choice. Always has been. The battle is in one’s mind… The scripture tells us a “double-minded” man is unstable in all his ways, and will receive nothing from Yahweh. Ja 1:7-8 nkjv

The game plan of Antichrist powers, is to reestablish the “hive mind” of the Nimrod rebels Yahweh scattered long ago, and it now sequesters most people in illusional reality with modern technology and pleasure seeking, yielding what the Bible calls the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 jn 2:16 nkjv).  Much of this has it source in digital addictions, drugs and alcohol indulgence, entertainment, social media, corrupted educational system, propagandized mainstream news, government pressure to conform [i.e., DEI], secular humanism’s attack on Yahweh’s truth and reality, and more… its where we live, a modern Shinar if you can see it. The Bible calls it Babylon, and tells us to come out; I think the way out is a “mind escape.” It is a sanctuary know as Torah where the mind is renewed, sanctified with truth. What are you thinking right now?

Shalom, John
