“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”  Ps 11:3 KJV

April 27, 2021

"The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted." Ps 12:8 KJV

The Bible teaches us that the works of evil rulers are exalted when vile and wicked men rule over the people… and it is directly related to the “self-inflicted” fracturing of the “foundations,” of the underlying moral and just principles, upon which a society once chose for its lifestyle. Yahweh makes the rules, men can only make choices… upon which their destiny is determined by fixed rules of Yahweh’s creation, and “cause and effect” design. Nothing happens by chance, although the enemy of our soul would like us to believe such a lie. We always end up having to reap what we sow.

Most of the people who read this weekly devotional have a basic understanding of the Bible’s instructions for man’s lifestyle; that being the expectation that a Holy and Righteous God (Yahweh) has faithfully preserved for us (believers, professing to be His people) since the beginning of time. Most of us are also knowledgeable of the terrible cost that Israel paid for their falling into corrupt sinful conditions, leading to their downfall, as recorded in numerous chapters of their long and troublesome past… Time and time again, society has disintegrated into chaos, upheaval, wars, and extended decades of remediation, if possible, otherwise they vanished… the repetition of these cycles simply prove we learn nothing from our failures of the past. In a nutshell, it is a sin issue, and because man, without a renewed mind and born-again spiritual life, is “hard-wired” to self-destruct… apparent from the wreckage of civilizations strewn across the landscape of time.

The crumbling of moral and just civilization’s foundations always leads to evil and wicked tyrants seizing upon the opportunity to plunder the divided, confused, and disheveled people, and enslave them under evil and immoral conditions. We are living wittiness of this process unfolding before our eyes in 2021.. approaching a “Great Reset,” of our world governments and political institutions. Technocratic powers are now “bagging” us for their selfish and evil purposes… a scheme hatched in Hell, preparing for the coming of the Biblical Anti-Christ, and one that has been a long time in the working of its many-faceted methods… its history defined in this link.

Now, for the brighter side and hope that Yahweh’s people are promised. There have always been times of hardship and destruction surrounding the lives of people who claim to believe and follow Yahweh. Our focus should be upon the promises in the narrative of Psalms 91… which describes such a condition. Additionally, let me share two other fantastic perspectives that the Bible records, being the words of two Old Testament Prophets during calamities of their time… and their words to Yahweh’s people.

“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

18 “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

19 "The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places." Hab 3:17-19 KJV

“Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.

17 “And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

18 “Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.” Mal 3:16-18 KJV

Remember, in Ps 23:4, as David wrote, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Notice here, David acknowledges, there is (will be) a confrontation with the “valley of the shadow of death,” not that Yahweh promises roses without thorns; through it all, Yahweh keeps us in His care.

Considering the turbulent waters and storms ahead, unless we let them, they can’t overpower the love, mercies, grace and provision Yahweh has for us; as Paul writes in Rom 8:31-39.

Shalom… John
