| “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,” 2Pet 1:2 KJV |
April 20, 2021 Let us pause for a moment to refresh our thinking and remember important and eternal values that God’s Word infuses us with... Always remember… One of the great truths a believer in Yeshua (Jesus) can learn is that they have salvation, and are made acceptable to Yahweh (God), by WHO Yeshua is, and by WHAT He has done in their behalf. The apostle Peter further reminds us that we are the recipients of multiplied grace and peace through “the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,” and goes on to say: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Pet 1:2-4 KJV Have you noticed that Peter’s emphasis is upon, “through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord?” I think we can sometimes burden ourselves with our focus being too much upon “us, and our concerns.” The real issue is having unmovable faith in Yeshua’s completed work in our behalf… mostly, that is acquired through regular and in-depth study of the Bible… When earnestly read and prayerfully ingested into our innermost being, Yahweh’s Holy Spirit brings the Scriptures to life (in us), and they are capable of multiplying the grace of God and the peace He alone can provide. On more key observation here… Peter says, “by these great and precious promises,” that WE might be partakers of Yahweh’s divine nature… And because of Yahweh loving us so much, He supplies the grace and peace, even in a world filled with corruption and lust, and we can experience it because He has intended for us to partake of His divine nature. Yeshua’s comments in Mat 6:33, confirms this truth: “seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” Shalom… John |
