“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” prov 3:5-6 nkjv |
April 15, 2025 Why should one trust [believe/obey] the LORD [Yahweh], even if their “own understanding” tells them otherwise? Well, then consider this companion Scripture: “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” prov 14:12 and prov 16:25… What makes the difference? Well, I think it all depends upon WHO owns your heart. In other words who do you really trust, follow and desire to please? If we are the “god” of our own inner man, then we will serve and pursue the things that satisfy [gratify] and please our appetites and desires. “Self” is either in control of our lives or truth of Yahweh’s Word is the central desire and control or our lives. There is no “coexistent” condition that is acceptable to Yahweh; remember, after one evades and disrespects, and finally rejects the truth of Yahweh’s Word that is offered to us, then we have examples of the final outcome [judgment] upon our selfish choices. Two examples of Yahweh’s handling of this issue… think it through carefully. First, when the Children of Israel, who were defined as Yahweh's chosen people, dissed Him long enough to get to the final break in His favor, the scripture tells us He sent partial blindness into them and they could not even see (understand) the real genuine Messiah, Yeshua/Jesus, working divine miracles in their very midst… Secondly, Paul says the same judgment will beset the last generation who have no love for the truth and Yahweh will send them a strong delusion because they did not have love for the {His] truth. Yahweh made this very clear to His people… often; here is specific Scripture speaking to this issue: “You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you 15 (for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth. 16 “You shall not tempt the Lord your God as you tempted Him in Massah.” deut 6:14-16 nkjv Now Yeshua, speaking to the unbelieving Jews in John chapter 12, says this: “Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again: 40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, Lest they should see with their eyes, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.” jn 12:39-40 nkjv In the same book of John, Yeshua says no man can come to me unless the Father draws him… How does Yahweh draw us to Him? Notice above, the persons with blinded eyes and hardened hearts were not drawn to Yeshua… they wanted to kill him. Many people today want to kill the messenger as well. The gospel is a challenging message and will cause confrontation among people depending upon what kind of eyes and hearts they have… As of King David, we find him [David] remembered by Paul saying: “And when He had removed him [Saul, former King] , He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’” acts 13:22 nkjv Coming to my main point, I want to ask you if you think David was a perfect man? He had committed several sins that the Torah considered capital sins… death by stoning, in fact. What separated him from that punishment? I suggest that David was an imperfect man doing extraordinary things under the anointing of Yahweh (without our approval). Although, David was quick to correct his actions and failures by confession and repentance… as should we all. During a time of troubles in Davids life, he wrote in Psalms: “I said, “Lord, be merciful to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.” ps 41:4 nkjv Our destiny for all eternity is founded upon our faith in Yeshua our Savior… Is Yahweh drawing you to Him, if so, consider that one may need to rearrange their priorities while there is yet time… let us learn from the words of Proverbs: “Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 2 cor 4:3-4 nkjv You see, Yahweh “blinds” because of one’s final rejection of His influence upon them… but the enemy of our soul is also at work “blinding” those who do not consider the truth of Yahweh’s Word and get snared in the clutches of the wicked one… normally a choice of self inflicted carnality. Who does your mind follow with your heart’s desire and faithfulness? The end of it all will be your eternal end, for life eternal with Yeshua, or in the endless suffering of the devil’s abode of torment. Once again: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” prov 3:5-6 nkjv Shalom, John |
