“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” rom 10:17 nkjv

When Paul wrote this letter to the Romans, in the mid first century, he would have fully understood the meaning of the word “hear/hearing,” from his in-depth knowledge as a Hebrew scholar; I believe he also intended it to mean, in this rom 10:17 verse, what the Hebrew word meant, which in Hebrew is the word “shama,” Strong’s h8085. A short TWOT definition means: hear, listen to, obey. I think Paul would have wanted the reader to hear and obey, otherwise, without action on the hearer’s part, no faith would “come.” James New Testament writings say that faith without works is dead (works by doing what your faith is focused upon, the Word of God in context here… jas 2:14-26 nkjv)

Yeshua also said the greatest of the commandments was founded upon “Shama Yisrael [hear oh Israel], Deut 6:4-9… one of the daily prayers recited by faithful Jewish believers. This remark by Yeshua is profound, because it is the epicenter of faith and faithfulness… everything in the Bible is about Yahweh’s meticulous ways and the cause and effect of “if you do this, then, I’ll do my Word.” Only Yahweh makes the rules, we can only make choices… that always have consequences.

Everything in our world is becoming more confused and uncertain. That is how the devil started his career... as a liar, deceiver and troublemaker, causing uncertain thinking in the first couple in the garden… they took their “hearing” off from God’s instruction, and “heard” the liar’s seductive voice. Again, choices always have consequences. Who have you been “listening to?” He has been busy gaining control of men’s thinking and motivational interest in all venues, and more so in these last days. Mostly, he has dulled men’s “hearing” and supplanted their intuitive “Godlike” nature with misinformation, half truth, and outright lies… actually witchcraft at work, bewitching men’s thinking, because they have carelessly let God’s truths be diluted by hearing evil instead of good.

Yeshua spoke of the time when darkness (spiritual darkness) would overcome mankind… “when no man can work.”jn 9:4 nkjv Yeshua said, “and because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” mat 24:12 nkjv The faith which was once for all delivered to the saints [Jude 3], has been all but blocked out of most peoples lifestyles… including those who call themselves believers, not unlike it was in the last days of Judah’s kingdom. (Old Testament – New Testament… same failure in the last days of a dying society).

In the waning days of the Southern Kingdom, Judah, around 590 BC, reading from Jeremiah 7 & 8, the Prophet Jeremiah admonished the people of their sins, grievous lifestyles, and corrupt priesthood… and more. They had turned so sour in Yahweh’s eyes, He told Jeremiah “do not pray for them.” jer 7:16 nkjv He said go tell them these words, but they will not obey (shama) you… jer 7:27-28 nkjv If Yahweh sends a “Jeremiah” type to us, how will we receive him? How would we even know how to evaluate his message… what would be our reference source? What would we do with the truth?

Dr Gavin Finley teaches that all spiritual warfare is an “information war.” Considering that be the fact, what kind of “sounds” are we “hearing,” and what will be our consequential condition if things do not change… in our “hearing?” I propose we need to return to serious study of the instructions God gave Moses… which Yeshua said He did not come to change, but to fulfill. Because without “hearing [obeying]” Yahweh’s instructions [Torah], even our prayers become an abomination, so says Prov 28:9 nkjv. The faith that “comes” by hearing is Yahweh’s divine protective shield… the “shield of faith,” as per its function, is a real consequence of obedience. Paul tells us it quenches all the fiery darts of the evil one eph 6:16 nkjv; the lies, deceptions and misinformation, flooding our minds in the times in which we live, are the work of demonic entities and compliant wicked people of a last days society that hates Yahweh and His beloved faithful…
