“Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.”  ps 119:11 nkjv

March 21, 2023

What does “hiding” Yahweh’s Word within our hearts mean to us?

”I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah” ps 32:5 nkjv

Thankfully, the faithfulness of Yahweh’s Word and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit, work in us to allow us to live with a “repentant” attitude… In fact, the “Word” that became flesh is Yeshua, and His daily working in us is the meaning of:

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 jhn 4:4 nkjv

According to the New Testament Book of 1 John (verse 4);

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." KJV

Now this direct statement is saying (two times) that to break, transgress, oppose, disregard, work against, commit action or violation of any kind against Yahweh’s Word, the "law" (Torah, law of Moses... first five books of the Hebrew Bible), is sin. Sin has one and only one end result; and that is separation from God (YHWH)... and without one's change of their ways by repenting and asking forgiveness and having Yeshua's (Jesus') blood cleanse their sin, sin will end in that one being cast into "the lake of fire," in the final judgment (Rev 20:15 and 21:8).

The ONLY remedy (correction or cure) for sin is confession of your sin, asking forgiveness, with true and genuine repentance and turning away from (forever forsaking) the sin at issue, asking Yeshua to become "master" of your life, and taking up one's place as an "obedient" child of YHWH. Thankfully, 1John 1:9 assures the repentant sinner:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." KJV

I think is is possible to grow careless and neglect the attention we need to give to the Holy Spirit’s prompting us to do some inner-heart “tidying up,” needed because of our procrastination hindering our honest assessment of our spiritual purity.

Aren't you glad that Yeshua came to not only save us [redeem us], but also to do the “heavy lifting” of the spiritual issues that are so important to us?

Shalom, John
