| “Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble.” ps 119:165 nkjv

February 21, 2023 “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” is 26:3 nkjv Who is “You?” How would one know [identify] the “You?” The “You” referred to above is Yahweh/Yeshua [the Word of GOD/the great I AM/the Alpha & Omega] which was in the beginning, which is now, and which is to come. rev 1:8 nkjv The “You” is fully explained and detailed in the Torah (first five books of the Bible). The “You,” is the personality [nature] of the Divine Creator. The “You” gave us the Torah [through Moses at Mt. Sinai]. Note what Isaiah said: “(For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us);” is 33:22 nkjv It is most important to know who “You” is… The Torah was given us to identify the “You” and define our relationship to Him, and to understand the great value and importance in keeping our understanding of, and relationship with Him, in terms He has ordered…. From before the beginning. I think all believers want to have peace; even unbelievers want peace (at least as they define it). In our discussion, I think “perfect peace” is to have oneself in thankful agreement with Yahweh. Such is Yahweh’s plan for us… from the beginning. It was the deception of the serpent in the garden that deceived the first couple [Adam/Eve] into coming out of agreement with Yahweh, and then their peace fled from their soul. What distracts you/me from keeping our “mind stayed on Yahweh.” The farther our minds wander from the Word, the less peace we can hope for. Notice something important in this scripture: “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” jn 14:14-16 nkjv Yeshua says, using a conjunction in the text, “and”; I think he expects us to love Him AND keep His commandments… then He will pray the Father supplies the Holy Spirit, who will abide with us forever. I think it would be impossible to sustain a life of peace (especially nowadays) without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The word “keep” in the Old Testament, and in the New Testament scriptures in our text, both mean to guard, protect, maintain and obey… etc. I was thinking about how easy it is to simply “mentally know,” without actually “keeping” the expectation that Yahweh has of us… so we can truly expect and experience the incalculable benefit of the Holy Spirit to direct our thinking and doing things that preserve our peace. The enemy of our soul (the place of our peace) is clever and malevolent in his deceptions and tinkering with our thinking in order to disrupt our peace. Consider the Psalmist’s words from these verses: “Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law.” ps 119:18 nkjv “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” ps 119:11 nkjv “Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.” ps 119:37 nkjv “Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.” ps 119:36 nkjv “I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word.” ps 119:101 nkjv “Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. 50 This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.” ps 119:49-50 nkjv I think we need to firmly embrace the “keeping” part, our part, to secure Yahweh’s promise of peace… if our minds are “stayed upon Him [his Word], the scripture says His Word will not return void, but will accomplish that for which it was sent.” is 55:11 nkjv Shalom, John |
