November 15, 2022 How wise is Yahweh? How many people consider this? How many even give it any thought? Tragically, only a few… The Prophet Habakkuk, in the chronicle of time past, somewhere around 600-650 BC, during the last days of the Spiritual demise of Yahweh’s people, namely the Southern Kingdom of Judah… was troubled with the injustices and lawlessness that prevailed in his land. He wrestled with Yahweh’s ways and timing of dealing with the dysfunctional misfits of his people and their miserable and sinful ways. His desires were that Yahweh would step in and address the dystopian society and restore the morals and spiritual capital that had gone so far into the gutter… does this sound a little familiar as we look around us, at our world and the condition of the “Church” in general in our times? I think too many people are delusional concerning the seriousness of the moral and spiritual decay we now live in. In Yahweh’s great wisdom, He chose to use the Chaldeans, who were heathens to say the least, (i.e., the Babylonians) as His solution... not to “restore and heal” Judah’s corruption, but to bring the dictates of His Word upon them that Moses declared to the people in his warnings to them in Deuteronomy Chapter 4. It is my opinion, sadly I must say, that we are soon to reap the same whirlwind that we have been sowing to. Nothing good can come of it. And as in the declining days of Judah, in the time of Habakkuk the Prophet, I think we believers need to prepare ourselves for the turbulent days ahead. Some will not like this thinking… I hope I am wrong. Perhaps we will see a miracle as proposed by 2 Chro 7:14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” You will notice that this is an “if and then” condition, OF GOD’S PEOPLE, not the wilderness society running wild among us… if such a turn-around were to come, to me, it would be a miracle…. As a final conclusion of the pondering of the Prophet Habakkuk, this is a very wise response of his understanding of Yahweh’s wisdom, and part of his ending prayer: “Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— 18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.” Hab 3:17-19 nkjv For believers who take the Bible at its face value, this is the only way through the coming calamities… Yahweh gave us this insight into His wisdom, thus our faith must be in Him as was Habakkuk's: “Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.” hab 2:2-4 nkjv Shalom… John |
