“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!” rom 11:33 nkjv |
November 11, 2025 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” isa 55:8-9 nkjv There is so much we need to learn about the wisdom and purpose of Yahweh [the God of Israel]. The greater problem is that only a very few who call themselves “Christians” really give much consideration to the fact that they are expected to search out Yahweh’s purpose and plan for their lives… why He so specifically created them and their great capacity to affect the people and plan that Yahweh has set them up to accomplish. In our lives we miss so many opportunities to be the influence we were created for. I knew a man that once said, not long before his passing, “it troubles me greatly that I have failed to do what I could have done for the Lord.” With honest hearts, many of us know what he was saying. Its never too late to improve our ways. Paul the Apostle, to me, is one of the greatest writers and authors of meaningful literature the world has ever had. I think his writing of the Book of Romans is the greatest work of literature ever in existence, following the Torah; the first five books of the Bible. I once knew a High School English teacher, who was a devout Christian, who expressed the same thoughts to me once during a discussion. I think what separates Paul’s writing in Romans from all other literature is its living proclamation of who we are as humanity… especially if you are a true believer of the gospel. All of Romans is profound; but I wish to focus upon Romans chapters 8 through 12. Consider some of these verses: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” rom 8:1-8 nkjv This is of great importance to understand… and fully absorb into your world view… although it is not what the “worldly” mind sees or gives any though to… do you understand what this means? In essence, one who is convinced of this truth is an alien in a wasteland of carnality… Even though the Power of the Law [Torah] is eternal, and established forever, with its certain condemnation and judgment against sinners, Yahweh knew before time began that things would be this way… making a way, via Christ, for us to be salvaged from sin’s death grip. Yahweh vastly thinks way above our level and understands our limitations and sin’s power over our flesh… while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us! He never even sought our opinion or ask us for our agreement… where sin abounds, there much more grace abounds! No man thinks that way; yet Paul’s inspiration by the Spirit, and his advanced understanding of the Torah [he was a Torah Scholar of the highest level], moved him to explain things most of us would otherwise not have comprehended. Even Yeshua [Jesus] said Paul (Saul of Tarsus) was a “chosen vessel” who would suffer much for the work of Yahweh’s kingdom. Acts 9:15 nkjv What kind of vessel does Yahweh consider us to be? And; Paul goes on to explain Yahweh’s mysterious calling, “(for the children not yet being born… that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), “But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, 7 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” 8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed. 9 For this is the word of promise: “At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.” 10 And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac 11 (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), 12 it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.” 13 As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.” rom 9:6-13 nkjv For sure, Yahweh has used unlikely people to do specifically planned things by His election only… you can see some of these things when you follow the genealogy of Christ’s forebears… And, there is a verse where Paul says: “For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,” 1 cor 1:26-28 nkjv Just as a side note, whenever I think someone ministering or teaching seems strange or that their associations are difficult to sort out… Yahweh always reminds me that He spoke to the unsavory Prophet Balaam using a donkey, num 22; and that He reaches people in various ways that He has not requested my advice on… The late teacher Brad Scott used to say, “ God is smarter than we are.” Aren't you glad! Moving along in Romans: “For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” rom 10:5-13 nkjv Paul’s audience in his day were typically two kinds of people… first, the religious dogmatic temple rulers who schemed to kill Paul for his audacity to say such things; they stoned him and beat him for such teachings as placing Christ’s authority above their own. Secondly, there were the simple and poor people who heard Paul’s teachings from within their hearts where the Holy Spirit was faithful to work… It seems to me that in our day, nothing has changed. And Finally there is this... “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” rom 12:1-2 Therein is the solution to the mysterious ways of Yahweh… be renewed in your mind; for you see, the demonic illusion of carnality, which Paul tells the Thessalonians is the mystery of lawlessness at work to deceive mankind... IS a real danger. At ground level, lawlessness is “without God’s Law/Torah.” Our society world wide is “lawless.” As we move on in our modern technologically driven society, the only place of safety is still the “simple” truth of Yahweh's Word… The Torah is the truth that is always the safe harbor we need; the loving grace of Yahweh via Yeshua our Lord and Savior, is the one we look to as Paul said: “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” And just think… though Yahweh’s ways are past finding out… you only need Yeshua [Jesus] within you to interpret the pathway to everything you will ever need to know about the mysterious way of Yahweh. Amazing, is it not? That is why Yeshua is called our Savior… and Paul says: “the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” col 1:26-28 nkjv Shalom, John |
