“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.”  heb 9:27-28 nkjv

October 15, 2024

“So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. 10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.” 2 cor 5:9-10 nlt

Do we believe there is going to be a “judgment” day? Do we believe we surely will appear before the judgment seat of Christ? AND, that we will be accountable for the things “done in the body,” things we have done, whether good or bad? This is not a small thing; as a matter of fact, I think it to be the most sobering and important thing we must deal with while “in the body,” yet alive and mindful of these things… and yet able to repent and make it right with Yeshua… Because:

“Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” heb 10:28-30 nkjv

The whole purpose of Christ [Yeshua] being offered once to bear all our sins, was/is to deliver those who believe in HIM, from the fiery lake prepared for the devil and his angles… not intended for man; but their rejection of God’s gift, of his preordained savior [Yeshua who was offered up], clearly separates them from a Holy fellowship with Yahweh. This is not complicated, but it is specific, and so many want to rewrite the plan Yahweh put in place in the beginning… as if they somehow had some better way. Amazing, even the height of pride, which Yahweh hates. Actually, pride is the original sin of rebellion by Lucifer, isa 14:11-15,   and all who follow him will join in his fellowship in the lake of fire.

What is on your mind today? How do you feel about your standing with Yahweh's expectations of you? Do you think you are special, and that picking and choosing certain Bible scripture will get you a pass on the day of Judgment… I subscribe that I am held accountable to what the Bible and the Holy Spirit teaches me. If you, or I, have failed the expectation that the Commandments and teachings of the Torah (and example of Yeshua’s life) clearly confront us with… and we know in our hearts we come up short, it is time to confess our failures to Yeshua, ask forgiveness, and diligently clean up all the debris we have left cluttering up our “house.” We can’t live life in a “sin/repent” revolving doorway, we must make haste and effort [with the help of the Holy Spirit] to rise above the “sins that so easily beset us.”

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” heb 12:1-2 nkjv

It seems to me that the insane and corrupt society we live in is surely soon to hit the end of Yahweh’s tolerance limits; careful study of Biblical Israel’s same pathway of disregard for Torah’s covenant principles seems to point to our soon coming judgment… sin has consequences; those of us who understand and care for our standing with Yahweh, must surely seek to honor the provisions enjoined with sacred shed blood of the new covenant and get our lives in line with Yeshua’s command, “if you love me, keep my commandments…” jn 14:15 nkjv,  this was not a suggestion, it was a specific admonition that obedience was still a duty of His followers. I think.

Shalom, John
