Thank you for reviewing our November-December 2017 Current Events Update. November-December 2017... current events overview: This Issue (Nov-Dec) is a combined issue: we include a special Thanksgivings remembrance that I have used for our family gathering for several years now… I think you may find it worth reading too. The simple act of remembering the things we should be thankful for (even apart from our Biblical concepts of thankfulness) can help strengthen our grasp on things of real value, especially in times of decaying morality and compromised cultural conditions… its always good to have our foundational fabric reinforced. I have also linked a special time-line titled "Pilgrims, Bible, Persecution and Thanksgivings." In the world we live in now, very few know the history of the early faithful who's lives were constantly in danger because of the simple message of the Bible... knowing about these "forerunners" of the faith causes us to be extra thankful during this "Thanksgiving" time. Now, for my comments on an issue that is often controversial (even to possibly make folks angry with what I am going to say), I want to ask the question: “who looks out for you when there is NO legal law-enforcement “official” present to protect you?” Whether you like it or not, YOU are the only available “first responder.” Yes, that's right, when you and or your family or other innocence person(s) are about to be slaughtered, only your capacity to intervene is in play. Tragically, we live in a world that is getting more violent and more dangerous with each passing day; For example, the shooting at the Sutherland Springs, Texas, Church... that horrified the nation, leaving 27 persons dead. Proven is the undeniable fact, that evil is unrestricted in its reach and willingness to cause unthinkable and disastrous damage, and is certain to prevail, unless some greater force moves quickly to stop it… or limit its intended purpose. Dialing 911 is of little help when each victim is only one trigger pull away. The list of such tragic events is long, and will continue to plague our turbulent society, whether from mad-men, as in the Texas event, or Islamic Koranic mandated hatred against the “infidels” of the West; San Bernardino, California, holiday party; Orlando, Florida, gay nightclub; Manhattan, NY, bike trail truck massacre… and many more slaughters of violent Islamic jihad; or countless other no less criminal minded attacks by demonic inspired perpetrators. The point is, we are at war with evil. When Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem, he was “on his own,” with no other protection than that of his own “first response.” He and each of his workmen had a tool in hand and a sword “girded by his side,” [Neh 4:18-20] and they were able to trust in God to “fight for us.” It is the same today, righteous people have a God given right to fight evil and believe God to “fight for us,” as well. Make no mistake about it, to overcome evil with good does not mean to surrender your fate to a demonic person and be slaughtered… if that were true, King David would not have been able to lead Israel to its glorious national position. [2Tim 2:4] While I like to try to be somewhat aware of the things going on around me, I do not want it to distract me from the purpose of my duty as a minister of the Gospel of Yeshua. The main thrust of this website is to keep the Biblical Gospel in front of the reader.
