This April 2017 “current events” update, is coming out just prior to the Biblical Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread… followed by the offering of the “first fruits.” [Lev 23:4-11 KJV] 4 These [are] the feasts of the LORD, [even] holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. 5 In the fourteenth [day] of the first month at even [is] the LORD'S passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month [is] the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day [is] an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work [therein]. 9 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. The eternal God of Israel (YHWH), purposely designed a way for all believers (who call upon the Name of the LORD) to “lifestyle their ways” before HIM and live in compliance with HIS Torah (instruction) and thereby be identified as a “Holy People” that were to be a light to the Nations (gowy/goy H1471)… These, feasts, Moed (appointed times; H4150) were annually prescribed to help the believers remember their relationship to YHWH; In fact, the Weekly Sabbath was to be the “sign” (H226) or “wedding band” between the Children of Israel and YHWH… Lev 23:3, Sabbath is the first “My feasts” YHWH lists in Chapter 23 of Leviticus, which contains the main Bible text detailing the “Feast of the LORD.” [Exo 31:16-17 KJV] 16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, [for] a perpetual covenant. 17 It [is] a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. [Psa 60:4 KJV] 4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah. In the Hebrew text above; as a way to define the relationship, YHWH uses two distinct Hebrew Words for identifying marks: first, as noted the word “sign, H226” and then “banner, H5251” which both imply a standard or signal, that is a distinguishing mark or something lifted up… So, as believers celebrate the Moed (appointed times of YHWH) they once again identify themselves as YHWH'S special people who “lifestyle their ways” as He has instructed them (obedience to the “truth”). When YHWH took “His Chosen” out of Egypt (remembering that the “world” to a believer, is a type of Egypt… or place of captivity in sin) He first delivered them, then He brought them graciously to the Holy Mountain… Sinai. There He gave them the Sacred Torah, (to which they said “I do”) that was the safety net for them. Today, when one understands their need for a Savior (knowing they can't save themselves), prays for Christ (Yeshua/Jesus) to forgive their sins, making genuine repentance for their sins against a Holy God, and surrenders their lives and purpose to Yeshua's way, they are (likewise, first delivered from “Egypt/world” and brought to the Torah (YHWH'S Holy Word, which is to become their safety net…) Unfortunately, some misunderstand the act of confessing Christ as Savior and responsibility for saying “I do” to the terms of the covenant, and thereafter, simply do their own thing. The instructions of the Torah, the Blood of the Lamb (Yeshua, lamb of God for believes today), and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit should be deeply embraced in this Holy Moed (Passover season) commemorating the beginning of the annual “feasts of the LORD.” Our special Passover link has a substantive amount of information that can help a sincere seeker find deeper meaning and an enriched personal relationship with the God of Israel (our main goal in life as a believer)… and of course, since Yeshua said we were “grafted on,” to the Vine (Him/Yeshua), we by His Redeemer Kinsmen authority to “save us to the uttermost,” have even more to rejoice in as we more fully understand this remarkable gift and blessing YHWH specifically set up for us to celebrate each year.
